Zeke has been a really, really good baby. He hardly cries, usually sleeps really well, and has just been a bundle of joy.
One thing I was really nervous about before he was born was my ability to handle 2 am feedings. Well, here I am at 3:30 am, writing this with one hand while Zeke sleeps in my other arm. Tonight he’s had a rumbly tummy and has had a hard time getting back to sleep. He woke up at 1:30 am and was hungry and needed a diaper change. Esther is completely exhausted tonight, so I amazingly handled the feeding, burping, diaper change and everything while Esther was able to get some rest.
I’m actually quite surprised that I’ve been able to learn to do so much so quickly. Waking up in the middle of the night is a hard thing for me to do, but I love this little guy so much, and that seems to give me all the energy that I need.
Well, I’ve gotta say that being a dad is the best thing in the world. It’s been a blessing to hold this guy tonight and help him get some sleep.
