Fun time in Wyoming

Monday, April 28th, 2008

We loved going to Wyoming last week for Zeke’s birth mom, Samantha’s, wedding! Here are some pictures of the highlights of the trip…

The awesome log cabin we stayed in.

The buffalo that were right outside our cabin. This one really scared all of us, we went to look at it, and it came charging over to the fence, luckily it stopped. Zeke still looks scared in the picture, but he kept wanting to go back and look at them.

Zeke loved playing on the stairs. Jimmy said he looked like Han Solo with his vest.

I love this one of Sam and Andy!

They were both so sweet to each other with the cake. Jimmy and I both like it best when the couple doesn’t smash the cake in their new spouse’s face.

It was really fun being a bridesmaid with Katie, and the flowers were so pretty!

All you can eat goodness! Great job with the food Sam and Andy!

Quick and Easy!

Ingredients:

2- 8 count Pillsbury original grand size bicuits

2 eggs

1 cup ham

1/2-3/4 cup shredded cheese

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 and grease muffin tin. Combine ham, cheese and eggs. Place one biscuit in each muffin hole, making a well by gently pushing in the center of the biscuit. Spoon ham mixture into each biscuit. Bake 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown. Makes about 5-8 servings. (For 1-3 people, half the recipe)

100% Boy!

Monday, April 21st, 2008

Zeke is a go-getter when it comes to things he wants, and he has discovered his teeth can help him in many different ways.

100-boy-1.jpg

He fixed himself some Ramen noodles for dinner one night

100-boy-2.jpg

100-boy-4.jpg

He tried to get the chocolate cake out of the box for dessert.

100-boy-3.jpg

Then, decided a chocolate bunny would do, tin foil and all.

100-boy-8.jpg

Zeke keeps his little chompers sharp by sharpening them on the window sill in his playroom.

Lately, Zeke has been showing off his manly strength with these tricks too….

100-boy-5.jpg

He pulled the front off of the DVD player tray

100-boy-6.jpg

He scratched this hole in our bathroom wall with his bare hands!

100-boy-9.jpg

He pulled the bow off of Mommy’s purse, and learned how to unzip it, both in the same shopping trip!

100-boy-7.jpg

And he broke part of the handle completely off of my curio cabinet using his big muscles. I keep the string around the handles so he can’t get to the fragile things inside, but it won’t be long before he has that figured out too :-P

Mommy Tag

Wednesday, April 9th, 2008

I was tagged by Janae and Stephanie to do the mommy tag. (Sorry, it has taken me a while to do it)

1. Typically, what time do you wake up? Between 7 and 7:30
2. On a good night, what time are you kids in bed? Zeke used to go to sleep at 7:30 before the time change, but now it’s about 8:30 or 9
3. How long have you been a mommy? 13 wonderful months!
4. How old were you when you became a mommy? 22
5. What is your favorite kids tv show? Zeke doesn’t watch tv yet, but when I was little I loved Sesame Street and Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood
6. What is your least favorite kids tv show? Power Rangers, is that still on?
7. What is your favorite chore?Putting things away, and organizing, I guess
8. What is your favorite meal to cook? Lately it is ham and cheese pop ups
9. What meal do you cook most often? Pasta type meals
10. What is your kids favorite meal? Zeke loves green beans right now, which is great!
11. What is your favorite thing your husband does with your kids? Jimmy plays with Zeke so cute! They also wrestle and make forts together which is so fun to see how excited Zeke gets, sometimes they even let me in the fort too, (even though I am a girl)

mommy-tag-1.jpg
12. What are 5 things that make you smile when you’re being a mom?
1. Snuggles, I love snuggles!

mommy-tag-2.jpg 2. Seeing Zeke learn new things, and seeing how proud he is when he accomplishes is goals

3. Watching Zeke sleep, I love sneaking into his room to check on him, and also watch him peacefully sleep

4. Funny things Zeke does, he has a great personality!

5. Seeing Zeke be kind to other kids, and seeing him give kissies

13. If you could take your kids anywhere, where would it be?I hope we can take Zeke to lots of fun places, but for now, I am really excited to take him to Disneyland!
14. When was the last time you went out with your kids? yesterday we went to his doctor to make sure his ear infection was gone, and last night we all played outside for a bit. Zeke loves to be outside exploring!
15. What is your favorite past time / activity to do with your kids? Going on walks with Zeke and Jimmy
16. Name one thing you said you would never do as a mom? Never hit them, I don’t think that is ever a good/necessary form of punishment
17. Name one thing you do, that your own mom did? She played with me a lot and did things that I liked to do. I loved playing and talking with my mom! Even though I was in the middle of 8 kids, my mom had a way of making each one feel like her favorite! We all have a great relationship with her, I want to be like her in so many ways!

mommy-tag-5.jpg

18. What is your favorite quality your mom has? She is so optimistic, positive, and loving. She sees the best in people, and literally forgets faults, and bad things. She is so sweet, and sacrifices so much for all of her children.
19. What is your favorite kids book? “I Love You As Much”
20. What is your advise for new moms? Just enjoy it! Don’t get stressed out when things don’t go as planned, just adjust, and be happy with life. Laugh at things that might otherwise be really frustrating.
21. What is the scariest / most heartbreaking moment as a mom? Lately, Zeke will cry really sadly when he doesn’t get something he wants, like to go outside, or when he wants a dangerous object like a pen or glass trinket. Even though I know he’s not hurt, it still breaks my heart to see him sad.
23. When was the last time you told one of your kids “I love you?” About 40 minutes ago when I laid him down for his nap.
24. When was the last time you were told “I love you” by one of your kids? Zeke tells me he loves me with his big smiles everyday!
