Zeke is really enjoying his summer break!

He loves playing with his sand and water play table, especially when Daddy plays too!

Zeke knows Daddy is so proud when he makes the sound of a light saber, so he practices during the day for when Daddy comes home.

One of Zeke’s more relaxing summer activities, kicking back and reading a good book.

And one of Mommy’s favorite summer activities too– eating watermelon!

Wedding Tag

Friday, May 23rd, 2008

I was tagged over a month ago with this cute wedding tag, (sorry it took me so long to do it Whitney)!

1. What date is your anniversary?

October 10, 2003

wedding2.jpg

2.Where did you get married?

Salt Lake Temple

wedding4.jpg

3. Who proposed and how?

Jimmy proposed on August 6, 2003 at the Rock Canyon Park in Provo. We were playing, then Jimmy said, “Let’s go for a walk.” We were talking, and all of the sudden I heard our song playing and I was like “Jimmy! It’s our song!” He was not the least bit surprised that someone was playing our song, and he asked me if I wanted to dance, it was then that I knew what was happening. Near the end of the song, a basket with roses was lowered down through the trees with the help of his brother, Dave. In the basket was my ring, and he got down on one knee and proposed!

4. How long were you engaged?

2 months, wow that sounds so short now but when we were engaged it was just right. We both agreed before getting engaged that we would prefer a short engagement.

couple-favorites-3.jpg

5. What was the favorite part of your wedding day? (besides who you were marrying, hopefully)

So many things! It was a perfect day for me!

6. What would you change if you could?

nothing

7.Wedding colors?

Pink and Silver (I know, I know, it wasn’t the right season for those colors, but they were my favorite)

wedding3.jpg

wedding5.jpg
8.Do you remember anything special from your ceremony? Any good advice? A comical moment?

We got great advice to pray together morning and night, that helps a lot.

wedding1.jpg

9.Were you clean or messy when you cut your wedding cake?

Clean thankfully! I was so nervous, I looked at Jimmy like, “Please don’t be rude!” We don’t have the kind of cake-smashing-in-the-face type relationship. We joke a lot with each other, but he always treats me like a princess.

10.Where did you go on your honeymoon?

To the Anniversary Inn, then to his Grandma’s cabin in Kamas. It was so cozy with the fire, and so nice to just be able to catch up on rest after the busyness of school and wedding planning. We were both in school though, so we took our official honeymoon the following May to Maui, Hawaii.

11.How long have you been married now?

4 1/2 years!

I ‘ll tag Kim T, Janae, Allison, Stephanie, both Jessicas, and anyone else who wants to do it.

Big week for our family

Monday, May 19th, 2008

My younger brother Adam returned home from serving in Brazil on Thursday. I’ve been so excited, it’s great having him back! His accent makes me laugh, I love it! On Saturday, one of my older brothers, (Joe) got married! It’s been a busy, but fun week.

Zeke was so excited too!

Mom was so cute, she got Adam gifts for each Christmas and birthday he was gone, and saved them for him to open when he got back.

Jimmy is an awesome drummer, and maybe Zeke will be too! Zeke loves his uncle Carlin’s new “Rock Band” game that you can get for the Sony Playstation 2. His favorite was the drumming.

Jimmy said he almost has the “traditional grip” in this shot, too bad the stick is backwards though :-)

(don’t tell uncle Joe Zeke was drumming on his stereo)

He really got into it!

They grow so fast!

Tuesday, May 13th, 2008

These are pictures from last May. Zeke was 2 months old, and as you can see, so photogenic! I miss those days, but I love these days too. Sometimes I wish I could zap him back to a baby for an hour or two, he just grew up so fast. Thank goodness for pictures and memories.

I love this one because it shows just how Zeke was – always smiling, with spit-up on him, and always clenching his left fist.

Such a happy little guy!

We love you Zeke, and we are so proud of all your accomplishments! Keep being you!

First time to Boise and Nampa

Wednesday, May 7th, 2008

Jimmy’s secondary employer, Rich, flew us to Boise last weekend to meet his family in Nampa.

Jimmy and Zeke in the Salt Lake Airport. Our flight was delayed 2 hours, so we were there for 3 hours!

nampa-04.jpg

Luckily the Salt Lake Airport has this fun play area for kids. Jimmy and I made guesses as to how long Zeke would last in the play area, Jimmy guessed 4 minutes, and I guessed 2 minutes…..

nampa-03.jpg

….I was closer, he lasted about a minute and a half! He preferred the moving sidewalks, and following the lady who was vacuuming, over the play area.

Rich’s daughter, Annie, and Zeke. I loved meeting all of Rich’s children, but the girls were my favorite. Annie is 12 and Tess is 8.

nampa-06.jpg

Zeke was so good with being soft with the kittens.

nampa-09.jpg

We drove to the Snake River in a place called Marsing, Zeke wanted to get right in the river, but it didn’t look too sanitary.

It was a great little trip, we were very impressed Nampa, and what we saw of Boise, it was a lot warmer than we expected it to be. We figured it would be colder because it was further north than here, but we didn’t take into consideration that the elevation was a lot lower there.

P.S.- If you are ever in that area, go to Chapala’s to eat, it was sooo good!

I spy… Zeke’s treasures

Friday, May 2nd, 2008

I spy with my little eye some of Zeke’s treasures which include: a floss container, mommy’s gloves, a mini boom box, mommy’s graduation tassel, a thin green cutting board, and a peppermint. Can you find them all too?

zeke-treasures-3.jpg

zeke-treasures-4.jpg

I moved the green cutting board out to get a picture of the other things, and Zeke quickly put it back into his treasure basket.

Zeke holding his floss container, and playing with the mini boom box. So many toys but he likes the stuff that’s just lying around the house best :)
