Jimmy’s secondary employer, Rich, flew us to Boise last weekend to meet his family in Nampa.
Jimmy and Zeke in the Salt Lake Airport. Our flight was delayed 2 hours, so we were there for 3 hours!
playing on the luggage scale
Luckily the Salt Lake Airport has this fun play area for kids. Jimmy and I made guesses as to how long Zeke would last in the play area, Jimmy guessed 4 minutes, and I guessed 2 minutes…..
….I was closer, he lasted about a minute and a half! He preferred the moving sidewalks, and following the lady who was vacuuming, over the play area.
In Nampa on the Washburn’s trampoline
Rich’s daughter, Annie, and Zeke. I loved meeting all of Rich’s children, but the girls were my favorite. Annie is 12 and Tess is 8.
Zeke was so good with being soft with the kittens.
We drove to the Snake River in a place called Marsing, Zeke wanted to get right in the river, but it didn’t look too sanitary.
It was a great little trip, we were very impressed Nampa, and what we saw of Boise, it was a lot warmer than we expected it to be. We figured it would be colder because it was further north than here, but we didn’t take into consideration that the elevation was a lot lower there.
P.S.- If you are ever in that area, go to Chapala’s to eat, it was sooo good!

Glad to see another mom use a buddy harness :) I didn’t know the SLC airport had a play area. Where is it?
We’ve got that harness, too! We get tons of compliments on it.
I remember when Logan was that age (well, and a little older, too) — he could ride the escalators allll day! (And since our flights were delayed soo many times, he got the chance!) He is a lot less of a handful now that he is older. :-)
Oh, you guys look soo great! Little Zeke is a cutie!
I’m so glad you had a fun time in Boise. I LOVE the picture of Zeke petting the kittens and being soft…so cute!! :D
Sounds like you guys had a good trip! I have the same “leash” (or monkey backpack would be a better name) for Dax! I love it and he loves wearing it. How did Zeke do on the plane? It looks like he didn’t mind the delay at the airport!
Looks like he had a great time at the airport and really kept you busy!
Esther, I love all the pictures of Zeke. He has grown so much. You guys really look happy.
Cute pictures! Zeke is so adorable. I too loved the monkey leash. I travel alone often with Aiden since we live in Ohio and I am definately going to have to get one for our next trip! Aren’t little boys at this age so funny? Zeke looks like he and Aiden would get along great!
The Boise/Nampa area is so nice. At one point, Andy and I considered moving to Boise to go to school at BSU. So glad you could see a part of Idaho. It’s like you can get a little bit of everywhere in Idaho. Hot,Cold, lakes, rivers, etc. I went to school in Twin Falls, about 2 hours east and it’s kind of the same. I’m glad you had a good time!
You were in Nampa and Boise? We’re only about 30 mins from Nampa, right across the Oregon border. We were at the Boise Temple on Wednesday last week!
Looks like so much fun! Where did you get that little carrier for Zeke? I love it! I am going to cedar City for a week but when I get back lets plan on getting together so the boys can play. I went and got Boston a little pool today. Maybe they could play in that.
Before we lived in Texas, we lived in Nampa for a few months and then in a small town in Idaho near the Oregon border. We loved it there! It was warmer there than we thought it would be too – and it hardly snowed at all – to be fair I heard they had more snow this winter. That’s fun that you got to visit…too bad about the airport delay! I think my kids would follow the vacuum too!!
