I love this website, I’ve gotten so many laughs from seeing other people’s pictures on their blogs.

What we would have looked like as a couple in 1954, I really got the better end of the deal, I wonder if Jimmy would have dated me?

Zeke pulled a “Back to the Future” stunt and became our same age in 1954.

First anniversary of forever with our wonderful Ezekiel James!

Thursday, September 25th, 2008

A year ago today was a very special day for our family, we were blessed to have our little Zeke sealed to us forever in the Salt Lake Temple. To celebrate today, we had cupcakes, and Zeke got a present.

I only had Christmas wrapping paper, but Zeke didn’t seem to care. I can hardly wait for Christmas this year, it will be so fun!!

His very own laptop! I’m pretty sure he will still want Daddy’s laptop, we can never seem to trick him with toy grown-up things, but this was too cute to pass up.

Pictures from last Sunday

Sunday, September 21st, 2008

On Sunday, we went to Sam’s brother, Brandon’s mission talk. He did a great job, and had some funny punchlines I’d never heard before.

Me and Sam. I love this girl so much! Words cannot accurately describe how thankful we are for her!

Cute pics of Sammi and Zeke

You can see where Zeke gets his striking blue eyes from!

After the delicious lunch, Zeke wasn’t looking too well. I kept looking back at him in his car seat, and suddenly he threw up! Poor little guy, it smelled awful. I’ll spare you by not posting the graphic pictures I took. Jimmy was so sweet to gently get him out of his seat and clean it all up.

He had to look away while undoing the buckle that was completely saturated.

Zeke seemed a little confused about his daddy’s strange behavior :)

Hooray for ward camp outs!

Monday, September 15th, 2008

I love ward camp outs! They are such a fun way to get to know ward members a little better. Friday was our ward’s first camp out, and it was extra special to Jimmy and me because it was our first ward camp out we’ve been to with our own child! In previous years, we enjoyed playing with other children in the ward, but there’s nothing like having your own, and watching their expressions and excitement at being in the great outdoors!

Zeke is really amused at something, I never figured out what it was :-)

Zeke sat on my lap by the campfire for over 2 hours until 11:45pm! I loved it, and I think everyone there was surprised, he’s usually so active at church and everywhere else. He did have his 18 month shots the day before which I think was a big factor.

This picture is so cute, but Jimmy’s hand was covering the flash. I love Zeke’s smile and how he’s holding the flashlight and his bear!

Snuggling up for bed. Zeke was in a really cute mood, and he slept so well in the tent. I was nervous because he likes his own bed so much, but he didn’t make a peep the whole night!

Zeke always wants to play with the big kids.

Jimmy was shocked when he saw this picture. I think Zeke would have gone further, but it was looking too dangerous to me.

Jimmy taught Zeke to throw rocks in the river, and Zeke thought it was lots of fun.

Thank you to all who made the ward camp out happen, we really enjoyed it!

Fun-filled Family Home Evening

fhe-1.jpg

Daddy and Zeke played our Hymn together.

fhe-2.jpg

We had a little lesson on God’s animals, specifically reptiles and amphibians, and then went to Petco to see them in real life.

fhe-4.jpg

fhe-5.jpg

Zeke’s favorite part about Petco was pushing their tiny carts.

fhe-3.jpg

He did so well maneuvering between the isles and displays, Jimmy and I were so impressed!

fhe-6.jpg

After Petco, we walked over to Jamba Juice, Zeke was so happy, (I think he recognized it from the last time we went.) He was dancing and being so cute!

fhe-8.jpg

He loved his “Strawberries Dreamin’” thanks for recommending it Becky!

fhe-9.jpg

fhe-7.jpg

I’ll admit, we don’t always do such fun FHE’s, usually we just sing a quick primary song, pray, and have a 1-minute lesson, (because that’s how long Zeke’s attention lasts), but it’s fun to do more creative activities once in a while too. :)

Utah State Fair

Saturday, September 13th, 2008

The fair is so fun! We had a great time with Grandma S, Grandma Z, and Kirty and Dallin. There are so many things to do and see, I especially liked seeing the animals.

utah-fair-02.jpg

Zeke wanted to play the basketball game, and he won a little stuffed bear!

utah-fair-07.jpg

I liked how Grandma Z called these the “Sweetheart Pigs”. They were so cute snuggled up together, and they even looked like they were smiling.

utah-fair-03.jpg

Zeke’s favorite animals to see were the sheep.

utah-fair-04.jpg

He even tried to climb into their pen with them!

utah-fair-08.jpg

Check out this goat!

utah-fair-09.jpg

I couldn’t believe they had real tigers from India there, they were so pretty!

Our baby’s not a baby anymore!

Saturday, September 13th, 2008

The other night, Jimmy and I were following Zeke around the neighborhood. (Zeke loves to be outside!) We both kept saying to each other, “Look at Zeke, he’s a little boy now!” It’s crazy how fast he has changed from being a baby to suddenly a toddler/little boy.

Some of his big boy tricks include…

*Feeding himself

big-boy-10.jpg

big-boy-09.jpg

big-boy-08.jpg

* Teaching his cousins and friends how his toys work

big-boy-07.jpg

* Being social at parties, and sitting at the “big kid” table.

big-boy-2.jpg

* Sharing, (well, there’s still room for improvement here, but he’s learning.)

big-boy-3.jpg

*  Getting himself a drink. (Even if it is from his sand and water play table, yuck!)

big-boy-1.jpg

* Pulling around his own bag and bear.

big-boy-6.jpg

* And the grand finale of all the reasons why Zeke seems so much older now… He started nursery on Sunday!

big-boy-4.jpg

This is his picture, he colored the bottom right heart. Jimmy and I both anxiously went to get Zeke when nursery was over. It was the sweetest thing to see Zeke sitting with the other kids listening to the story, it melted our hearts, I’m glad we both got to see it!

Date night

We had a fun night out with Zeke. We went to the park…
