Our fun hobby

Monday, November 24th, 2008

During the day, Zeke loves to play outside. For the past few weeks we have been enjoying a new hobby of finding parks to play at. Zeke is definitely an outdoor kind of guy!

Here are some fun pictures at a park in Draper…

They had a fun 4 way teeter totter.

Zeke liked climbing up this big rock wall to get to the slide.

We went to a great park just north of the Riverton Library…

The eyes on this horse were a little spooky to me.

Zeke thought the teather ball was a soccer ball on a string :D

Another day we found a park a little south of the library…

They have tire swings there!

Zeke preferred the regular swings over the tire swings.

And of course, the park we go to most often…

The park behind our house.

We found some fun parks in Herriman, Sandy, and South Jordan too. I love this area of Utah, there are so many great places to play! I hope Zeke likes to play in the snow too, otherwise we will have to find some fun indoor places. Has anyone been to the Jumping Jacks bounce place? If so, did you like it?

Wheeler Farm

Monday, November 17th, 2008

Saturday we went on a family outing to Wheeler Farm. Jimmy and I hadn’t been there since we were young, and we had forgotten how much fun it was. It is free too, which makes it even more awesome! They have lots of farm animals, and other fun things to see.

This mamma pig had 7 piglets!

The clubhouse looks like a chicken, or bunny coop.

Zeke loved trying to get the ducks. We saw Adam and Francine getting their family pictures taken. (I hope you post them on your blog Francine.) Bentley’s and Aspen’s hair was so darling!

Wheeler Farm is such a neat place! It is open year round, and if you want directions and more info, go to www.wheelerfarm.com

The story behind these pics…

Zeke and I were having a fun day playing outside in our neighborhood. We were looking down at the horsies through the fence by the swings, and suddenly I smelled something awful. I always look where I step, and survey the area where Zeke will be stepping too, but somehow I missed a spot. Zeke had a huge pile of mushy green dog doo-doo on his shoe!! I was so disgusted! We tried to scrape it off in the street, but it was too soft. We went home, and I took off Zeke’s shoes and left them outside. I had to take off his pants too because some got on them, so I put Zeke inside and I went out to scrape off some of the big clumps with a stick. When I came back in, I found this…

Zeke still had his diaper on, and he was saying, “poo-poo” It made me laugh, and it almost made the whole ordeal worth it :)

I washed his hands, and then spent the next half hour washing out every crevice of Zeke’s shoe. I used an old tooth brush, and a safety pin to make sure I got it all before putting the shoe in my washing machine. Then I sanitized the sink. I am so paranoid about germs from animal messes! Please pick up your doggie’s mess when it goes in public places, especially near parks.

Go Cougars!

Walking to the stadium, Jimmy was so excited!

Zeke watching the drummers.

My favorite thing to watch at any sport is always the cheerleaders.

Cheesy grin to go with his cheesy nachos.

Thanks for the tickets Mike and Johnny, we had a great time!

Hike to Lake Catherine

Thursday, November 6th, 2008

We love hiking with our family! We drove to the very top of Little Cottonwood canyon, and then had a picnic after hiking to Lake Catherine.

Zeke loves to be outside, especially in the mountains.

Evan was making Zeke laugh in these pictures.

We are in the adoption process again!

Monday, November 3rd, 2008

We are excited to announce that we are currently working on all of our adoption paperwork and interviews! It’s a long process, but things are going well. We are hoping to be approved and in the official waiting pool in a month or two.  We are so excited, and we can hardly wait, but we know things will happen when, and how they are supposed to. Friends and family can play a big part in spreading the word, and helping a birth mother to find us. Please keep us in mind if you hear of anyone looking to place their baby with an adoptive couple. Feel free to pass our email address along to anyone considering adoption, it is jimmyandesther@gmail.com.

More fun October events

We had two fun trips to Gardner Village to see the witches. One was with Daddy, and the other was with Grandma, Aunt Kirty, and Dallin. Both times, Zeke’s favorite witch was the one riding her bike.

The above and below pictures are of Zeke by the same witch. He had quite the opposite reaction the second day we went, things are always less scary when Daddy is near by.

Grandma and Zeke

Both Zeke and Dallin loved the pony ride at Thanksgiving Point, so we were surprised when neither wanted to ride them at Gardner Village, but once the ponies started walking, they both liked it.

To start off the Z family party, we went to a fun place called Engh Gardens off of 700 E. and about 8200 S.

Dallin and Zeke as ghosts

Grandma Z always has fun ideas, and activities!

Halloween Bingo.  Zeke is a little young to understand Bingo, but he enjoyed eating our marking pieces, because they were Apple Jacks.

The older cousins, (ages 8-12), made a fun spook alley for the younger cousins. This was my favorite part – a graveyard in the sandbox.

Trick-or-treating 2008

Saturday, November 1st, 2008

We went to the parade at Toys R Us and met Geoffry the giraffe on Halloween afternoon. Zeke liked to look, but didn’t want to get too close.

Cowgirl riding the horse

Horse getting a horsie ride

All of the trick-or-treaters (My RM brother who is almost 22 went trick-or-treating too.)

Ride that cowboy!

CANDY!

Jedi Stallion

The real witch, my mother-in-law. She is a true witch on Halloween, it gives me the chills. She even steals kids candy! She’s awesome!

Zeke only got scared once when the witch cackled, but he never wanted to let her get too close.

Happy 2nd Halloween Zeke! We’ll be excited to see you next year Witch!
