Zeke now sleeps in a toddler bed!
We bought him a race car bed for Christmas, but we were so excited we gave it to him early. We set it up in his room on Saturday morning and he loved it! He jumped on it all morning, but when it came time for his nap, he didn’t want to sleep in it. We put him in, and he looked worried, and started to cry. We put him in his crib, and he took his nap. Before bedtime, Jimmy had the idea to put his new bed where is crib usually is, and later we decided just to take apart his crib and try him in his new bed. We did our usual routine, and then we layed Zeke down in his bed. He startd to look worried again, and he looked around for his crib rails. Jimmy and I asked him if he wanted a few more songs, and we sang to him as we held his hands. We left his door cracked open a little, and we were impressed when 15 minutes went by without seeing Zeke out of his bed. It took him about an hour to fall asleep, but he never complained, or tried to come out. When he was asleep, Jimmy and I snuck in to look at him. He looked so cute in his big boy bed! I checked on him a few times during the night, and every time I could hardly believe he was doing so well. At 8:15, we finally heard him say, “Dowk!” (that’s how he says get out), I ran to his room, and he was at the door. Jimmy and I could hardly believe he made it through the night without falling out.
We were thinking he would surely get out and play during his nap, but he didn’t! He did so well, and now it has been 4 naps and 4 bedtimes and he hasn’t gotten out once! He did wake up at 4am last night because his teddy bear fell on the floor. He started crying, and he was sitting up when I went in. I gave him his bear, and sang him a song, then he didn’t make another sound until 10 this morning!
I didn’t realize how huge of a step it is to transition your baby into a toddler bed. (Not that Zeke made it hard by resisting it), but Jimmy and I were a little sad the first night. Zeke has grown up so fast.
He is so good at learning new things and adjusting, he is Mr. Amazing!

How nice it is to have your baby be so good. We tried putting Will in a toddler bed, and it was fine for the first little while, but then he started getting up at 5:15 in the morning and then climbing into Aiden’s crib, and we would wake up to Aiden screaming bloody murder because Will was clobbering him. We had to put the crib back together, and now have to cage him in so he doesn’t smash Aiden. Sheesh. By the time we are in another house, Aiden and Will will both be in toddler beds, and we’ll have another room for a baby which will be safe from either one of them clobbering. Zeke is so stinking cute!!
What a cool bed! Zeke is sleeping in style!
I love how cute his room is decorated. How great that Zeke did so well in his big bed. I am starting to realize how exciting it is to see your kids grow but at the same time its a little sad.
How cute, he’s getting so big! Caleb has the same bed and he loves it.
I really love your room decor. It is so cute. I might have to seal your ideas. Its a lot harder for me to find cute decorating ideas for a boy.
I love this story and I love his bed! I also love the pics especially the one where he is laying on the bed in the opposite direction lol. You are a great photographer!
These pictures are so cute. What a sweet boy you have! That was an adorable story. I love the bed too by the way.
