So, the whole first week Zeke did perfect sleeping in his new bed. Then he figured out that he could get out and play during his naps. I think it has been a good thing though because he hasn’t ever played on his own before, and it’s cute to hear him through the monitor playing and imaging his own stories. I also like to peek under his door and watch him while he plays and looks at his books. Yesterday, Jimmy and I did Zeke’s nap routine, and when we went out. We both got down to look under his door, and we got caught…
Zeke was looking at us under the door too. All three of us were laughing as we each realized we had been caught.
Zeke’s hands, Jimmy really enjoyed this picture.
After Zeke plays for an hour or so, he will climb in bed and take his nap. No matter how tired he is, he just likes to have some free time first. I guess I can’t blame him, it is nice to have a little alone time once in a while. So, my conclusion is that Zeke’s naps are still pretty easy, but it will be a whole new adventure when he learns how to open doors ;)

I was wondering how the “sleeping in the big boy bed” was still going and just hadn’t been able to ask you yet…so I’m glad you posted about it. :) That is SO nice that Zeke hasn’t figured out the doors yet! Jack has had doors down forever and just figured out how to lock/unlock them (now we have to keep the deadbolts locked on the garage and front doors all the time) :(
Now that is funny! You sure are good at capturing the moment on camera too!
Yep, I remember when we got to the stage where the kids learned how to open the door. We had to get one of the childproof covers for the doorknob to “lock” them in because they’d be soooo tired, but thought it a funny game to escape. Those weren’t good days :( They’re good now. :)
Oh my gosh this is the funniest story ever!! I love it and the pics are hillarious!
These pictures are the cutest things ever. :) And it’s impressive how well he’s doing on a big boy bed. Good job Zeke! (Have you considered putting the child proof doorknob thing on before he learns to open doors? Just a thought.)
perfect, you get an extra long break while he plays on his own before the nap. genius to get him in a big boy bed before he can open the door! you’ve got me thinking.
