Zeke getting his zzzz’s

Thursday, March 26th, 2009

Zeke is currently in the phase of falling asleep in new places. He knows he is not suppose to come out of his room at night. We leave his door open unless he comes out, and he will usually go right to the edge of his doorway and play before falling asleep.

One night we knew he was out of his room, but we didn’t want to catch him out because we didn’t want to have to shut his door. It  surprised us when we went upstairs after an hour and found Zeke asleep on one of the stairs.

This is my favorite place where Zeke falls alseep… in my arms. He loves to snuggle on the couch, and will fall asleep if he’s tired enough.

For sale

Friday, March 20th, 2009

We are attempting to sell our house. We might be crazy to try to sell in this market, but we figure if it does sell, now would be a good time to get a great deal, and a low interest rate on a bigger home. We listed it at a higher price than what some of the others in our neighborhood have been lately, but that price is still $5,000 less than what we bought it for in 2007 :-)

Here are some pictures…

Can you find Zeke in this picture? He is shooting baskets from his favorite spot. It was tricky to take the picture, I had to take a few before I decided most people wouldn’t notice him in this one. (These pictures will be on a public MLS website, and people aren’t suppose to be in the shots.)

If we are able to sell, the only things I want to take with us are the people in our neighborhood/ward. The people here are so neat, and I have learned a lot from their examples. It’s fun to have so many little friends for Zeke so close by too.

PS- My house wasn’t as clean as the pictures show, I kept having to move things out of the different rooms for the pictures. Wish me luck with keeping my house presentable :)

We had fun in the snow last week, but I’m so happy it has all melted now, and it’s nice outside!

a few extra blessings

Monday, March 16th, 2009

I wasn’t feeling too well Friday and Saturday. Jimmy wasn’t here to help because he had a work conference this week and weekend, but I sure had lots of things to be thankful for. Some of the things that made my days a lot better were…

* My mom playing with Zeke Friday night so I could rest on her couch.

* Zeke’s nap on Saturday

* A hot, relaxing bath while Zeke took his nap

* Our baby monitor to listen in on Zeke while I took my nice bath

* The funny things I heard Zeke say before he finally decided to take his nap-

“Mommy look! Twenty dollars!”

“Oh no, I broke it!”

“Needs more bacon”

“What was that?”

“Mommy, I love you”

“Look, a square!”

“All done mommy! Come out!”

* Jimmy finishing  his conference Saturday evening! It’s hard to be away. Even though it was just in Salt Lake, we missed seeing him as much as we usually do. I’m thankful that the conference is over and it will be a whole year before it happens again!

Zeke’s birthday

Saturday, March 7th, 2009

Zeke’s birthday was a lot of fun! Jimmy and I decorated the house when Zeke went to sleep the night before, and when he woke up on his birthday morning, he had fun seeing the streamers, balloons and other decorations. We had a fun time with Zeke’s birth mom Sammi doing her registry at Babies R Us, and then the three of us went to meet Jimmy for lunch downtown. We ate at the Lion House Pantry again, and it was delicious!

Zeke liked eating the jam the most, even over the chocolate cake!

Cute boys!

zekes-party-04

We had a fun sports themed party with all three sides of the family (Jimmy’s, mine, and Sammi’s). It was fun! There are a lot of little boys in our family, 5 boy cousins were able to come to his party, (and 1 niece).

After Zeke blew out his candles, he said, “More fire!” He loves to blow out the flames on candles.

I don’t kow if this is a two-year-old thing or what, but for the past few days, Zeke has been rubbing his food in his hair. Silly boy!

Samantha, Me, Zeke, and Jimmy. I loved seeing Sammi’s cute little pregnany tummy. It looked so much like when we met her the first time a month before Zeke was born. Sammi and her husband are expecting their little boy in June, we are so excited for them!

Other cute February pics

Wednesday, March 4th, 2009

February was so busy, and went by super fast. I didn’t have much time for blogging, so I am going to put all of these pictures from February in one post because I want them to be in my blog book.

february-1

Zeke on Valentine’s Day morning with the Valentine’s he had gotten so far.

february-6

Where’s Zeke?

february-7

In his toy box!

february-4

We made sugar cookies with Grandma, Zeke loved it!

february-3

Grandma was so patient with her little “helper”.

february-5

Zeke grabbed that uncooked heart cookie he’s touching, and stuffed it in his mouth. My mom and I thought he would spit it out, but he ended up liking the raw cookie more than the cooked ones….until the frosting got on the cooked ones of course.

february-2

We went to the Kangaroo Zoo again, this time with cousins.

february-8

Zeke invented a new multi-use, cheap, new hat. (Important note about this new kind of hat: it’s only multi-usable if you use it as a hat first.)

february-9

One (hat) size fits all.

february-11

We went to the BYU/Utah game.  It was a good game. Go BYU!

february-10

Zeke couldn’t take his eyes off the game even long enough for a picture, and I couldn’t get the red eye all the way out of his eye in this picture.

Sick day with Daddy

Monday, March 2nd, 2009

Jimmy stayed home from church with Zeke because Zeke was sick. When I came home, I found this cute site…

Zeke loves to “nuggle” (as he says).

sick-day-4

When my boys woke up, they showed me the game Zeke made up. It is called “Teddy Bear Soccer”, and the bears kick the ball to each other.

I also got a free light saber show

Zeke thought Jar Jar Binks needed his nose cleaned too.

These pictures are from a week ago on Sunday. Our sick day turned into a whole sick week. We are all still coughing away with stuffy noses and sore throats. I can’t complain too much though because we have had a very healthy winter season overall.
