House update

April 20th, 2009

Selling has been a little slow. We have only had one walk-through, and that is after we dropped the price $10,000. (Now it is priced at $189,000.) I would rather have few to no walk-throughs than a ton with no good offers though. We can’t go as low as some people can because we bought our house at the peak of the market for $204,000.

It’s funny because when I look at our listing online it almost makes me want to buy it all over again. The original owners did a good job of picking out nice colors, and I would have the same in our next house if I could. Sometimes I wonder why we are even trying to sell, then I remember that it’s because I love getting a great deal! With interest rates so low, and prices of homes so low, now seems like a great time to buy a home we can settle in to. But, if we end up not selling, there are a lot of things I’m excited about still living here. Some of them include-

* Our pool opens up the end of May

* Our ward is awesome! I wish we could all stay in the same ward together.

* Super Saturday in our ward and other upcoming Relief Society activities

* Summertime here is so fun, there are lots of friends outside everyday!

* It’s really nice not having the responsibility of a big yard, (but I will also like having a bigger yard).

Hey Esther! It’s only a good deal if you get enough out of your home. Hang in there! Whatever is right will happen. :)

You have a good attitude! It’s still a hard market to sell, but you’re right, if you can, then it’s a great time to buy! Good luck with everything!!!

I can totally relate to what you are going through! We are also putting our place up for sell in this hard market. It is a lot of work. Your house looks great though. I hope that it sells for you guys. Good luck!

I know how you feel. I have been told to hold off on selling. You will get what you bought it for once the market gets better so I think that is what we are going to do now. who knows. but I understand your pros and cons. I’m in the same boat as you.

  5. Nothing worse then Lookie Lous when you are selling a house. Yours is so cute, hang in there you have it priced right. It will sell!

Best luck with the whole process. I am happy for you guys but sad to see you leave. Hopefully you will stay here until we are gone this summer and then hopefully we can still get together.
