July events

Thursday, July 30th, 2009

I know this is going to be a huge post, but there are so many memories I want to have in our blog book. We have had a fun month!

Our ward camp out was a few weeks ago. Zeke and Jimmy slept in the tent, but Lilly and I came home to sleep.

We went to my sister’s small town to celebrate the 24th of July holiday.

Their town of 500 cooks food for 1,500, and it was delicious!

I’m happy I can still do back flips. It took me years to get up the courage to learn how to do one.

Fun Summer activities to do in Utah part 2

Wednesday, July 29th, 2009

Liberty Park in Salt Lake is so fun! Most people probably know about this park, but if not, it’s a great place to take your kids for some Summer fun. It’s a huge park that is about 4 city blocks long, with lots of playgrounds, and water areas for kids.

My favorite playground is on the north west side. My sister Shirley loves this swing :) Her kids, Kaela and Kendall get her going pretty fast.

This splash zone is at the same playground.

Zeke loved the little rivers, there is a large area of these that run into a kiddie pool.

There is a place to buy food and treats on the south west side. When my mom asked Zeke if he wanted a snow cone, he was so happy he yelled, “It’s Disneyland!” He was having such a fun day with his cousins.

There are 5 different rides just west of the concessions. They are old, but still fun!

My niece, and my sister on the swings. I went on them too, and was shaking after.

My hair was wild after riding the swings. They scared me really bad, but I’m a little chicken when it comes to swings.

They also have an aviary with lots of birds at Liberty park. I haven’t ever been to it, if you have, what do you think of it?

So much love!

I am so thankful to Heavenly Father for blessing me with such a wonderful family! I love, love, love my family I grew up in, and Jimmy’s family is so great also. Now, with my own little family, I am overcome with joy when I think about how much I love Jimmy, Zeke, and Lilly!

Today after church, Zeke was telling me that the Holy Ghost is a nice ghost, and that he wanted to touch it :) He also told me that other ghosts are scary. I just love all of the cute things he says!

Later, I was snuggling Zeke in his little car bed before his nap, and he was so precious! I love that he likes us to snuggle him before he goes to sleep. I said, “I love you Zeke” and he said, “I love you Mommy”. It makes me so happy to hear that, especially when I remember how much I longed to have a child and to be called “mommy”. Infertility was such a painful, and heart wrenching experience for Jimmy and me, but I think going through that hard time really helps us to appreciate our beautiful children so much more.

Today, Lillian is 2 months old! Below are some pictures of her this afternoon…

I bought a lot of baby clothes before we had children, and I had lost a few boxes of my girl clothes. I found a box last week and this cute dress was in it. I’m happy Lilly will get to wear it once or twice before she grows out of it, it looks so cute on her.

At her 2 month Dr. visit on the 27th of July, Lilly weighed 12 lbs. 4 oz. (80th percentile), and she was 24 inches long, (95th percentile).
