Temple open house and Temple Square

July 11th, 2009

My 16 year-old niece, Marissa, came to stay with us for a few days. She is so fun, and is more like my little sister I never had. We went to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple open house with her on Tuesday. It is such a beautiful temple! I love all of the openness and windows on the inside. Anyone can go to the open house, regardless of religion. For tickets click here.

On Wednesday we went up to Temple Square to eat lunch with Jimmy.

We took these pictures from the observatory on the 36th floor of the Church Office Building.

Here’s a view of the state capitol building.

Here is a cool view of the conference center. The top of the building has trees, and fountains on it! Look how tiny the cars are, we were up so high.

Below are two videos about LDS temples. I am so thankful for the temple blessings. The temple is a place of peace, and comfort, and I come away from it being reminded of what matters most.
