New tricks

Sunday, August 23rd, 2009

Zeke and Lilly have each figured out some fun tricks this past week. Last Monday, we were all in Zeke’s room, and Lilly and I were watching Zeke and Daddy play tackle basketball, (a mix between football and basketball that Zeke made up:). Lilly laughed her first real laugh as she watched them, and she kept laughing, almost hysterically! Finally I had Jimmy run down and get the camera.

She loves to watch Zeke, and laughs at various things he does. Today she thought seeing him take his bath was really funny. I love her laughs!

On Friday, we went to the Snowbird Sky resort. My family was staying up there to do the tram, zip line, and other activities, but we just went up to go swimming with them at the lodge. Zeke loves to go swimming this year, and he scares us with his no fear. He just jumps into the pool, and we have to jump in after him. He was impressing us with his swimming skills on Friday. My mom said, “Wow Zeke, you’re incredible!” Then Zeke got out of the pool and put his arms up like a superhero, and said, “I’m incredible!” as he jumped in the pool. Here’s a video of some of his jumps into the pool…

Jimmy found this in Zeke’s room after his nap. This is how Big Bird rolls in our house, in a souped up “beej” (as Zeke calls it). For some cute reason Zeke says some words backwards :)

Here’s some more Zeke cuteness for you…

“Mom’s a nice boy”

“I ga fot” (forgot)

“I want to eat it in the chicken” (kitchen)

Zeke calls the exhaust pipe and the pollution “the dust“, and he holds his toy cars up and says, “I’m gonna dust you!” as he points the exhaust pipe at us. He also asks “Where that car’s dust?”

“I want to ride the Holy coaster”

Daddy: “Zeke, please stop whining, and ask nicely” Zeke: “Please can I whine?”

“Can I Zeke please want some apple juice?” (For- Can I please have some, or Zeke
wants some :)

Daddy: “How’s your ice cream Zeke?”   Zeke: “cold”

“I love my little Lilly sister!” (Out of the blue, while snuggling Lilly)

“He’s a princess” Zeke said that about Lilly this morning when she woke up and Zeke was holding her.

I still wear my retainer every night, and I still had it in when Zeke woke up. He was looking at it, and said, “Mommy has football teeth…go BYU!! It’s a BYU tainer.”

Zeke really wanted to eat our leftover Little Caesar’s pepperoni pizza for breakfast this morning. While eating it he said, “I like pappa-oni, it’s yuumy!…I bring this from Wendy’s”

And here’s some Lillian cuteness…

painful MISSION halfway ACCOMPLISHED

I was talking with Jimmy a few weeks ago about my capri tan line, and I told him that I wanted to get two good sunburns before the Summer was over. So, I planned a day to go swimming with my sister, and I didn’t wear any sunscreen. Not smart. I know now, and I knew then too, but I didn’t want to have white legs all winter. So why don’t I just go tanning you might ask? Well, I’ve never been to a tanning salon, and I have a goal to not ever go so that when Lilly is older and she wants to go tanning, she can’t say, “But mom, you did!” Not that sun tanning is any better for my skin, but it is something you can only do a few months of the year, as opposed to being able to go to tanning salons all year. (Weak justification, but I’m sticking with it :)

So we all had a fun time, and of course I stayed in the sun way too long since it takes a few hours before the sunburn appears. I figured I hadn’t gotten any color, but that night it appeared, and I sure felt it! It hurt for 3 days, and I decided that one good sunburn this year was good enough.

Zeke swam through his regular nap time, and had so much fun he didn’t even get too cranky. Lilly loved the background noise of the water, and slept almost the whole time under a big umbrella. I still was too nervous about taking her in the water, I think it might have been too cold, but I put her in her cute swim suit from Aunt Suzy.
