Something I love!

Thursday, October 22nd, 2009

I love sneaking in to watch Zeke, (and now Lillian), sleep! I have TONS of pictures of Zeke sleeping. I think I love it so much because Zeke is so active all the time, and it’s fun to see him peaceful, and still.

Zeke wanted to be “tucked up” as he calls it. (A combination of tucked in, and wrapped up.)

and on his tummy this day. I love how he always has his special bear close by. He is getting so big, and he is so smart! He figures things out fast, and it’s so fun to have conversations with him.

Some of the funny things he’s said lately include…

“I want to flush the waffle down!” (He wanted to push down the button on the toaster to cook his Eggo waffle)

“Yes it’s not” or “Yes it isn’t” when I tell him “No it’s not” or “No it isn’t”

“My bear had a poopy!” then he wanted to put a diaper on it, and he couldn’t figure it out, so he asked Jimmy, “How you do this?”

“What was that you said my love?” I ask him that a lot I guess :)

“I love your cute nose Mommy.”

“Lills don’t be sad, be glad!” I love it when he talks so sweetly to Lilly and tries to help her be happy.

“Don’t poke yourself in your eye Lilly.”

“I sacked you!…but I still love you Daddy.”

We had a fun filled Friday with going to a pumpkin patch, then to Gardner Village to see the witches, and finally to Grandma and Grandpa’s for a Halloween party with pizza, orange jell-o, fun games, and cookie decorating :)

Zeke loved the pumpkin patch!

He was even a lot more brave about the witches. He was a little shy with this one, but at least he let me take a picture with her.

Extra grateful!

Monday, October 19th, 2009

Last night Grandma Charlotte, and Grandpa Dave came to visit. They are Zeke’s birthmom’s parents. We were all so excited for them to come, and Zeke was bouncing off the walls when they got here. It’s such a wonderful love that we feel for all our birth families, especially for our angel birth moms that carried our miracles for 9 months, and then had enough faith to place them in our arms, and care forever. We think about, pray for, and love Samantha, and Amy so, so much, and consider them “angels among us”.

We are so thankful for our beautiful children, and for the great people that are each a part of them. I’m also thankful for open adoption, and that we can keep up with our birth families. We really miss everyone in North Dakota, and are excited for the day we will get to see them in person again.

I am just feeling extra grateful for the amazing people that have come into our hearts through adoption, we feel so blessed to have them in lives!
