Half a year already!

Thursday, November 26th, 2009

Lillian is 6 months old! Her cute personality is starting to come out, and she is using her darling voice a lot. She loves to grab things, and scratch on things. She scratches her poor tummy when I change her diaper, or clothes. She gets excited about various things, and rocks forward and back, and waves her arms. I love it when she gets excited in her exersaucer, she really gets it rocking!

Her sign says, “I can sit up! I have a tooth! I have a really cute voice, and I love to talk! I notice everything within my reach, and I grab things to taste.”

It’s strange that she is already halfway to one year old, it feels like she was just born. It’s more strange to think we’ve only had our baby girl for 6 months, it feels like she has always been in our family. I can’t imagine life without her. We love this little princess so much!

I am thankful

Thursday, November 26th, 2009

I love Thanksgiving. It’s such a wonderful time of year to be extra thankful for our blessings! Some of the things I am thankful for include…

I am thankful for my Savior. I am thankful that He lives, that He atoned for my sins, that He showed the way with His perfect example. I am thankful for His love, His comfort, and His peace.

I am thankful to belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This gospel brings so much joy, and perspective to me. The teachings of the gospel make me who I am, and helps me see what I want to become.

I am thankful for Jimmy, he is the best! I am thankful Jimmy loves me with all of my quirks, and flaws. I am thankful he is the most wonderful husband, and father, and everything I dreamed of. I love him!

I am thankful for our two beautiful children. They are miracles, and it’s a miracle we have each of them!

I am thankful Zeke is so full of life, and for all he teaches me. I am thankful Lillian is such an easy going baby, and so adorable. I am thankful for Zeke’s and Lilly’s smiles, and laughs that brighten my days. I am so thankful for my kids!

I am thankful for all of our family. I am blessed with tons of great people in my life! I am thankful for my angel mother who has always been my dear friend, and a sweet example.

I am thankful for adoption. I am thankful for our childrens’ wonderful birthparents and their families, I love them!

I am thankful for awesome friends who live lives of such goodness. I am thankful for your examples, and the inspiration I get from observing you.

I am thankful for health. I am thankful I have a body that can see my beautiful children, hear lovely music, smell my mom’s Sunday dinners, feel his warmth when Jimmy hugs me, and taste the many flavors of a Cafe Rio enchilada-style chicken burrito.

I am thankful I live in this great country. What a blessing it is to enjoy so many rights and freedoms here!

I am thankful for memories, and all of the wonderful things I can think back on. I am thankful for pictures to help with a lot of those memories.

I am thankful I can read, and for all of the uplifting books, and movies I enjoy.

I am thankful for my washer, dryer, microwave, oven, dishwasher, running water, and hot showers!

I am thankful for my cute house, and that it’s warm, and feels safe.

I am thankful for our two cars that run well.

I am thankful Jimmy got up with both kids in the night, and let me sleep in today, and many other times.

I am thankful for the beauty of nature. I am thankful for the mountains, the flowers, trees, green grass in the Spring, autumn leaves, the fluffy winter snow before it turns black from all the pollution, sunsets, and quaking Aspen trees that remind me of my mom.

I am thankful to be me. I am SO blessed!

We went to lunch with Grandma Charlotte, and Grandpa Dave on Monday, and they gave Zeke these neat Thomas wall decals, and the Thomas blanket. They gave Lilly some cute outfits too. Zeke was so excited when Jimmy was putting them on. Can you tell which sticker Zeke put on?

We call it the flying bush.

The next morning, Zeke decided to redecorate, and group them together. It did look pretty neat how he repositioned them, they made a nice diagonal line, and they are repositionable, but Henry, and Clarabell got their sticky side stuck to the others sticky side, and ripped when I tried to pull them apart.

Later, he moved the train wreck onto mommy’s wall :)

We were hoping he’d keep them on his wall a good long time because they were so cute, but at least he really enjoys them, and has a lot of fun playing with them, that’s what counts, right?
