We love October!

October is a fun month! There’s so much going on with Halloween, and fall festivities. Some of my favorite October traditions are going to Gardner Village to see the witches, carving pumpkins, and family Halloween parties. We’ve done a few of my favorites so far, here’s some pictures :)

Lilly kept talking about the “wit boat” She is really into witches right now, and she likes to hear witch stories before bed!

us with our skeleton shirts :)

These cupcakes were so messy, but so good!

Grandma Charlotte bought Zeke and Lilly rock candy suckers. Zeke was all pictured out, as usual.

I snuck a candid shot to get a normal Zeke face :)

Lilly was adorable in the pumpkin patch this year! She loved picking out her pumpkins!

Zeke had a lot of fun too :)

Lilly with her green pumpkin she chose :)

Zeke gets really into carving pumpkins! It was fun to watch how excited he was about it all.

Zeke drew the faces on his pumpkin, then Jimmy carved them out.

Lilly’s little head in the background makes me laugh :D

Lilly drew a face on hers too, and Jimmy modified it a bit for the carving :)

Zeke was so excited to see his pumpkin with a candle in it at night!

I love my girl!!!

Yep, we all love October! More fun is soon to come!

Good pictures are tricky to get these days :)

It was cold enough to break out the new fall clothes last week, I thought my kids looked so cute in them I wanted to get a picture. It wasn’t easy…

Monday was our 8th anniversary*, and Zeke’s big preschool orientation.

Lilly likes to be just like her brother! She took her backpack to her play date while we went to preschool :)

It was fun that both Jimmy and I could be there with him at orientation!

Today was Zeke’s first official day of preschool without us. I think he was nervous because this morning he gave me a few excuses of why he wasn’t going to go to school today. When I was dropping him off, he was brave, and he went with his teacher into the class. I cried as I watched him walk away. Memories of my baby boy flashed before my eyes, and he seemed too little to be going to school without me. Lilly and I didn’t know what to do with ourselves while Zeke was gone, even though his school is only 2 hours, it seemed like a lot longer. I kept checking the clock to see if it was time to go get him. Finally I decided we would walk down to get him so we could leave earlier than if we drove :)

Zeke was the very first to walk out of the class when it was over. He walked so tall and proud. He told me about his day, and then said he wanted to walk home all by himself. He was feeling very independent now that he was in preschool :)

(*It was so great having Jimmy home on our anniversary! We went to Kneaders for breakfast with the kids, and that night we went on a date to the Texas Roadhouse, and the dollar theater. We shared the stake and ribs combo, it was delicious! After the movie, we shared a huge Cold Stone ice cream, my favorite combo yet- cotton candy, and sweet cream!)
