“I neat-nee”

Friday, December 9th, 2011

My Lilly girl is a sneaky one! Yesterday, after Zeke went to preschool, the “Lilly is being quiet alarm” went off, and I called out for her. When I heard no response, I ran around to all the bathrooms. I found her upstairs in the bathroom with the door closed, she had taken her socks and pants off, and had climbed on the counter, and was playing with the soap and water. I washed her off, and got her dressed again, and we were both coming down the stairs. I had to use the restroom, ( I do a lot these days, one of the pregnancy joys I always heard people talk about :), right after washing my hands, I came out of my room, and noticed Lilly was being quiet again, I ran back upstairs, and it was like a deja-vu!

She was exactly how I had found her before! Pants off, socks off, up on the counter playing in the water and soap. She is sneaky, and fast! This time I got smart, and locked the bathroom door behind us. 20 minutes later, I needed to put away Zeke and Lilly’s laundry, Lilly was playing on the main level in the toy room, but I in the middle of putting things away, I called down to her to come up and help me and then I’d give her a treat for helping. Usually she jumps on the opportunity to earn a treat, but she said, “NO!” I could hear her down there, and it sounded like she was still playing on the train tracks with cars and trains, but I knew she must be up to something if she didn’t want to get a treat. I came down, and this is what I found…

The egg carton opened, bread opened, a yogurt opened, the cottage cheese lid popped off, a spoon dipped into the sour cream, a little milk on the floor, and one happy girl! It wasn’t bad at all, it could have been a disaster. None of the eggs were broken, and only a little milk spilled on the floor.

A large percentage of my day was spent mostly doing the following:

-Running into my master bathroom, and finding Lilly standing on my laundry basket that she had taken out of my closet, and tipped upside down so she could use it as a stool,  getting the soap, and washing her hands in the sink. She did that 5 times! One the the times she laughed, and said, “Mommy, I neat-nee!” I laughed too, I’m always telling her she’s so sneaky! I locked my door a few different times, but when it wasn’t locked, she never missed the opportunity to be sneaky :)

- Catching Lilly a few times in the pantry on a stool trying to get her treats that she gets when she goes pee-pee on the potty.

- Lifting Lilly off the Kitchen counter sometimes I was quick enough to get her down before she got the soap, sometimes I wasn’t. I can’t complain though, at least she’s playing with clean stuff, and not the toilets anymore :) I’m also really glad that she doesn’t take off her messy diapers very much anymore, that was gross! I’d rather have her be sneaky the ways she is now.

Most times when I catch her in her sneakiness, she squeals, and laughs, and stomps her feet, she’s so funny! She keeps me up, and running. It makes me wonder how I have gained so much weight, even being pregnant! So far I’ve gained over 25 pounds, that seems like a lot for having the last 3 months of weight gain still to come!

Oh, how I love my girl! There’s so much personality bottled up in that tiny body of her’s!

Yay for December!

I love going to the festival of trees! We went today, and got some fun treats, and saw some neat trees. I like to support this each year since 100% of the money goes to such a wonderful cause. Tomorrow is the last day, click here for more info.

I told my kids to each pick our their favorite tree, and I would take a picture of them by it. Lilly ended up with a lot :)

Here is the first one that was her favorite

here is her second, she like how it had ice cream cones on the tree with cotton balls to look like ice cream

her 4th or 5th favorite, I lost count :)

yet another Lilly favorite

Zeke was harder to please, he kept saying none were his favorite, but at least he posed with Lilly by her favorite Disneyland tree

Finally he found his favorite- the motorcycle tire tree

one of the last trees we saw before we left, and it happens to also be a “Lilly’s favorite” :)

Earlier this week our city had a family Christmas celebration with cookie decorating, hay rides, free scones and hot chocolate, and Santa!

Lilly was so darling when it was her turn to go see Santa! She ran right up, and got on his lap, and sat there smiling at Santa :) It was precious!

Zeke didn’t see Santa, so Santa came to him to give him a treat, and Zeke hid behind his daddy’s legs. The next day I asked Zeke why he didn’t want to see Santa, and he said he was afraid of Santa, he said, “Because he looks like a killer, and why would I want to sit on someones lap that looks like a killer?” I didn’t know exactly how to respond to his response, and I may never look at Santa the same again! ;)
